Norm’s Farm Market is a family business that began with little intention of being a business at all. Norm’s sons, Steve and Scott were about six and seven years old when they took some of Norm’s extra sweetcorn down to the gravel roadside (which is now Highway 25). The young businessmen sold corn until they were satisfied with their profits and then left the rest unattended.
That doesn’t happen now!
Norm began farming in 1957 when he formed a 1,200 acre partnership with his dad.
Norm and Margaret married and had four children, who all are now married and each had two children of their own. The uniqueness about Norm’s is that his children and grandchildren spent the summers planting, hoeing, harvesting, working the farm market, and most importantly making memories. Norm and his family were very close and enjoyed farming together with his sons and their families.
Their eldest son, Steve and his family continue to operate the farm of several thousand acres. The youngest Son, Shawn and his family own Johnson Repair across the garden and continue to help the farm operation as well. The Johnson family farm has been in the family for over 132 years.
